Congratulate the Doe v. Minnesota Team for Winning Attorneys of the Year
On July 11, just a couple weeks after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a state district court ruled several Minnesota abortion restrictions unconstitutional and permanently blocked their enforcement. In a huge victory for abortion rights in Minnesota, the court held that the Minnesota Constitution protects not just a fundamental right to choose abortion, but also a fundamental right to access abortion care.
This was the culmination of three and a half years of hard work by Gender Justice and our partners to undo laws designed to increase costs, shame patients, and intimidate providers.
Honorees include:
- Gender Justice Attorneys Jess Braverman and Christy Hall
- The Lawyering Project (co-counsel)
- Our Justice (plaintiff)
- First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis (plaintiff)
