Welcome Tana Hargest as Gender Justice’s New Deputy Director!
We are delighted to announce and welcome Tana Hargest, who recently joined Gender Justice as deputy director.
In this new role, Tana provides critical leadership to the team, shapes organizational culture, and guides our day-to-day work.
As our team and organization grows, Tana is helping to ensure we have the right tools, practices, and systems in place to grow sustainably and to multiply our impact.
We are excited for you to have an opportunity to meet Tana! She is an artist and activist and a skilled strategist who has worked with a wide range of community-based nonprofits as a consultant over the years. She creates change through public art-based policy engagement, and through the development of a network of artist-led worker cooperatives.
In addition, Tana is a member of the Black Liberation and Abolition Cohort, a group convened in the immediate aftermath of George Floyd’s murder. She’s also a Gay Games gold medalist as part of the Subversive Sirens, a swimming team committed to Black liberation and equity, radical body acceptance and queer visibility. She is a cohort member of Don’t You Feel It Too?, a public art action and form of movement meditation that transforms the self while taking action in the world.
We are honored to have Tana join our team as a champion of racial justice, queer liberation, and reproductive justice!
P.S. We will be announcing two other new members of our team very soon as well. Thank you for supporting our work and helping our organization and impact grow.
